Best Non-Alcoholic Rosé Wine: Picked for 2025

Non-alcoholic rosé wines have been at the top of the non-alcoholic wine category for several years. When producers couldn't get reds or whites just right, they were already making non-alcoholic rosés that tasted great and were good dupes of the real thing. Over the past few years, the quality and quantity of these wines has just gotten better. There are options using tempranillo grapes and as unique as south african pinotage.

Many, but not all, of these non-alcoholic rosé wines are low in calories, but watch the sugar as some can have a little too much added sugar like Fre alcohol removed rosé. The sparkling rosé wines and the still rosé wines are both excellent - it just depends on the occasion.

How is non-alcoholic rosé wine produced?

Like traditional wine, non alcoholic rosé wine is made by keeping the skins in contact with the juice for a short period of time which results in the infamous rose colour. Some wines are pinker than others, depending on the varietal and the time in contact with the skins. The wine is fermented and then dealcoholized using one of several ways to remove alcohol from wine. But what is the best non alcoholic rose? You'll have to try them all to find the one you like!

    2. Smoky Bay Rose

Best for: Weddings, baby showers, or just sipping on a spring patio

    Tasting notes:

Giesen is beloved around the world and the rose is one of their best. The aroma is floral mingling with peach orchard at harvest, and a hint of strawberry. Strawberry, peach and a hint of lemony acidity carry over onto the palette. It’s a great dupe for rosé, with a nice mouthfeel and weight to it. It has a slightly creamy finish which is a nice counterpoint to the tart middle. This is a lovely and refreshing dealcoholized rosé, perfect for a brunch or spring luncheon.

    3. Noughty Rose

    Best for: A sunny patio

    Tasting notes:

This non-alcoholic wine is a Provence style rosé produced in South Africa, at a vineyard with dry land irrigation, resulting in a delicate but surprisingly complex dry rosé wine different than anything else in the non-alcoholic rosé wine category. It has a very pale pink colour, with delicate notes of fresh berries and bright citrus. This would pair well with grilled fish and summer salads.

    6. Oddbird Non-Alcoholic Rose Spumante

Best for: Sunday brunch, baby showers

    Tasting notes:

Another non alcoholic sparkling rosé to add to the list. Oddbird Sparkling Spumante Rose is a unique product, as one of the only pink Spumantes in the non-alcoholic space. It's made in the Italian province of Treviso, located in the Veneto region. This wine is a beautiful pink color, made from a mix of Glera grapes (traditional spumante grapes) and Pinot Noir, which contributes to the wine's colour. It's not overly fruity, has notes of fresh white pear and strawberry on the palate with grapefruit and raspberry on the nose. A great pairing with light breakfast and brunch fare!

Drinks in wine bottles that DON'T taste like Rose

    1. TOST Sparkling beverages are not wines, and they won't have the typical 'rose' flavour that comes from grapes. They ARE delicious however, as long as you don't think of them as a wine. Their rose-style pink option is a blend of white tea, ginger, and elderberry. They are also completely alcohol free, which many non-alcoholic wines are not. Most of them are 0.5% ABV or under.

    2. Proxies Pink Salt is absolutely delicious, but it's also not a typical rose wine dupe. To understand Proxies, you need to look at the ingredient list and think about what those flavours will be like in a bottle. They're made from infusions, shrubs and macerated herbs AND grapes - so you do get a backbone of grape varietal which makes these super interesting to drink if you're into gastronomy in any way.

Non-alcoholic rosé wines we don't like

Fre alcohol removed rosé wine is at the top of our 'spill' list. It's full of added sugar and flavor, and does not have the sophistication of the premium non-alcoholic rosé wines available almost everywhere now. Rosé should be light, dry and crisp, and the Fre version is definitely not!

    FAQs about Non-Alcoholic Rosé

Is there a non-alcoholic rose wine in a can?

Yes, there's a great sparkling rosé by a brand called Leitz Eins Zwei Zero as well as another brand called Sovi. Both are available in both Canada and the U.S. Sovi is a nice refreshing option with red grapefruit flavors and a light sweetness. Super tasty! Leitz Sparkling Rose in the can is off-dry with really lovely bubbles and it doesn't taste 'tinny' like canned wine can sometimes. You can get this in a bottle as well.

What does alcohol free rose taste like?

There is a range of flavors for alcohol free rosé. Some can be extremely sweet with lots of added sugar, and others can be light with a dry finish. It's hit or miss. Gruvi alcohol free sparkling rose is on the sweet end, but a lot of people love it. There are less sweet wine options, when you get berries balanced with tart acidity in better made options. Overall, they will be slightly sweeter than classic styles of sparkling wine.
