Best Non-Alcoholic White Wine (2025 Taste-tested & Reviewed)
/A review of some of my favorite non-alcoholic white wines
I was a Chardonnay girlie, and loved my white wines year round, so it’s always been one of my missions to find the best non-alcoholic white wine to replace my favourite bottles. The good news is that the non-alcoholic white wine category is a little bit further along than the red wine category and has quite a lot of great options. Here’s a list including the best non-alcoholic Chardonnays, Sauvi B’s and more wines without alcohol that taste good and hit the spot when you need them to!
Who am I? I’m a ‘sober sommelier’ and I've spent the past five years testing hundreds of bottles from all over the world and recently there have been a lot of non-alcoholic whites that truly impressed me. This list is my holy grail short list: the non-alcoholic white wines I actually drink and recommend, based on taste, body, structure, and a “wow, this feels like wine” feeling.
*Note: 'alcohol free wine' or 'zero alcohol wine' means 0.0% alcohol - this article covers non-alcoholic dealcoholized wines that are less than 0.5% alcohol but not 0.0%.
Will it actually taste like real white wine?
If you're expecting a perfect dupe for a sauvignon blanc or chardonnay, some of these wines come pretty close. Removing alcohol changes the structure, body, and texture of wine in a big way. If you adjust your expectations slightly, there’s some real pleasure to be found in this category — and lots of bottles that scratch the wine itch so well, you might not miss the real thing at all.
One of the things I love about this entire category is that real winemakers are now trying new variations as non-alcoholic whites. They’re using varietal blends I may not have tried before I stopped drinking, and these wines don’t fit into a ‘category’ like pinot grigio, for example. These are the true gems! Our top pick is exactly this - a blend of white grapes that makes a non-alcoholic sparkling wine you won’t be able to differentiate from a real wine.

Tasting Notes:
This non-alcoholic white is a perfect example of a cool-climate chardonnay, but with a hint of warm weather characteristics. It’s crisp and acidic, and has a playful hint of soft buttery oak. Tasting notes:
Making a non-alcoholic chardonnay that will satisfy the pickiest of former wine lovers is a difficult feat. 8. Saint Viviana Sauvignon Blanc
Best for: Sizzling summer days
Tasting notes:
Dry and lively non-alcoholic Sauvignon Blanc from Washington State. Green herbs on the nose, Grapefruit, slate, tropical fruit and lemongrass on the palate. Bracing acidity for a mouthwatering finish that brings you back for another sip. Delicious and low sugar too!
9. Pure Vision Chardonnay
Best for: Braised pork with light herbs
Tasting notes:
This wine is from an organic vineyard in Australia, and you really can tell the difference. There’s just something about Pure Vision’s wines that elevates them above a lot of others in the category and we think it’s the organic viticulture. The Pure Vision Zero Organic Non-alcoholic Chardonnay is well-rounded and nicely balanced with some structure and a pleasant full mouthfeel, with some waxiness which reminds me of French wines. A hint of length at the end but just an echo.
Available in Canada only. Find it at P/S Alcohol Free, Upside Drinks or Dry Variety.
10. Cognato Chenin Blanc
Best for: Shellfish, mussels cooked in wine
Tasting notes:
Cognato is made in South Africa (are you seeing a pattern here??) from pure Chenin Blanc, one of the regions most famous native varietals. It’s a mouthwatering mix of lemon curd, green apple and a fresh minerality with a hint of salinity. It’s an off-dry wine, as there is some sweetness but balanced out with a nice bright acidity. It’s a really lovely sip!
Available in Canada only via Dry Variety Drinks and Clearsips.
11. St. Regis Selections Sauvignon Blanc
Best for: Turkey and other roasted poultry
Tasting notes: This is a fun and unique non-alcoholic white that has lots of flavour and acidity. It’s a warm climate Sauv Blanc so expect tropical notes that complement roasted meats and other dry roasted dishes.

FAQs About Non-Alcoholic White Wine
Is non-alcoholic white wine actually wine?
Yes — it’s made from grape fermentation like traditional white wine, with the alcohol gently removed while preserving flavor.
Does non-alcoholic white wine taste like regular white wine?
Many do — crisp, aromatic, and fruity — though it lacks the alcohol warmth. High-quality non-alcoholic whites can closely mimic the varietal characteristics.
Is there a non-alcoholic white wine in a can?
Yes, there are lots of non-alcoholic white wines in single serve cans, mainly sparkling options but it’s actually better than still wine in the canned format. Try Oddbird Blanc De Blanc in the can or Cognato Chenin Blanc in the can for two low sugar options.
How long does NA white wine last after opening?
Refrigerate after opening and enjoy within 5–7 days; non-alcoholic whites oxidize faster than alcoholic ones.
Are there any trace amounts of alcohol in non-alcoholic wine?
Yes, alcohol free wine or zero alcohol wine means 0.0% alcohol but most non-alcoholic wines are between 0.01 and 0.05% ABV. Even alcohol-free wine can be 0.05%, but those are trace amounts basically undetectable. Wine alternatives that are truly alcohol free often taste like grape juice because there is no solvent to hold the flavour.
What is the best way to store non-alcoholic wine?
Keep non-alcoholic wine in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Once it's been opened, keep it in the fridge for 24 hours. Non-alcoholic wine oxidizes quickly so it may not taste the same after 24 hours.
Where can you buy non-alcoholic white wine?
Non-alcoholic white wines are available everywhere. You can start with your local grocery store, which usually has lower-priced options like Fre wines, which taste ok but are sometimes a sweeter option with higher sugar levels. Most premium non-alcoholic wines are accessed through online retailers or specialized non-alcoholic bottle shops. You can find where to buy information in all our non-alcoholic red wine reviews and on our Where To Buy Non-Alcoholic pages (here for Canada and here for the U.S.).
