A New Take On A Non-Alcoholic Spritz
/This surprising combination puts a new spin on a wine spritzer

Are you dreaming of a spritz cocktail now that spring is here? We are! A spritz cocktail or mocktail can be many things - and believe us, we’ve made a lot of spritzes over here! But despite our tenure in both the boozy and non-boozy spritz realms, we’ve never made a drink with this delicious combo. We were inspired by a recipe on the St. Regis wines recipe page so we decided to try and recreate it.
This non-alcoholic spritz cocktail mixes non-alcoholic Chardonnay with tonic water (or diet tonic water) and a tiny squeeze of lime for a super easy spring drink. It’s similar to a white wine spritzer which uses club soda, but brings the bitter quinine flavour to counterpoint the sweetness of the wine for a mouthwatering mocktail.
Choosing a non-alcoholic chardonnay
In this non-alcoholic cocktail, we’re using St. Regis Dealcoholized Chardonnay Non-Alcoholic White Wine. St. Regis is a Canadian brand, but available across the U.S. and Canada. It’s by far one of the most accessible non-alcoholic wine brands in Canada, and a step-up from most of the other grocery-store n/a wine brands. It’s extremely easy to find at most Canadian chain grocery stores including Sobey’s, Loblaws, Metro and Longo’s. It’s a great value for the wallet-friendly price point of $14 (prices vary by location).
Tonic or diet tonic, that is the question!
This recipe tastes slightly different depending on whether you’re using regular tonic water, light tonic water or diet tonic water. It’s all personal preference but no matter which you choose, it still tastes great! For anyone watching their sugar intake, the St. Regis Chardonnay has 6.2g of sugar per standard four oz glass which is in the same range as most other non-alcoholic wines (which vary from 3g/glass to 7g/glass). Regular tonic water adds another 10g of added sugar (approx).
Easy as 1,2,3
This recipe couldn’t be easier to pull together. We’re using a mixing glass, but you don’t need one - you can make this right in the stemless wine glass you’re serving it in.
Tools
Mixing glass (optional)
Stemless wine glass
Spoon
Jigger/shot glass
Ingredients
4 oz St Regis Dealcoholized Chardonnay
3 oz tonic water
¼ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
In the mixing glass or wine glass combine non-alcoholic white wine, tonic water and lime. Add crushed ice and give it a quick stir to cool everything down. If you’re using a mixing glass, add clean ice to a wine glass and strain the spritz mix into it. Garnish with a lime twist and serve.
Salut and enjoy this perfect spring cocktail!
