Spicy Pineapple Lagerita Mocktail

Non-alcoholic spicy pineapple and lime mocktail.

Pineapple, lime, salt…and lager? Oh yes! Some cans of Libra’s new non-alcoholic lime lager landed at Some Good Clean Fun and we just couldn’t get enough. It’s not only a super light summer lager perfect for patio weather, it’s also a great option in a mocktail.

We’re also obsessed with a Crossip alcohol-free spirit called Blazing Pineapple. It’s like a pineapple and tajin spice had a baby and called it Blaze. It’s so good, you need to stock this on your bar cart for summer and add it to any lime-based mocktail.

A bottle Crossip of non-alcoholic spicy pineapple non-alcoholic spirt sits in front of two garnished bodega glasses, atop a butcher block counter.

Crossip is a super cool brand of alcohol-free spirits from the UK and we’re really lucky to have it in Canada. Founded by a high-profile bar star named Carl Anthony Brown, Crossip flavours are incredibly layered and sophisticated liquids that elevate the non-alcoholic cocktail experience to a new level. They aren’t ‘dupes’ of regular spirits - instead it’s almost like a bartender at a high-end cocktail bar has bottled up an expensive cocktail for you. We’re in love!

We thought it would make a great pairing with the Libra lime lager, and we were right. Here is a mouthwatering mocktail that will do your sober girl summer justice!

Ingredients

1 tbsp grated lime zest

1 tsp sea salt

4 oz Crossip Blazing Pineapple

1 can Libra Lime Lager

6-8 dashes orange bitters

Preparation

Glassware

We’re using bodega sized glasses in this recipe so that one can of lime lager can be used across two drinks.

Garnish is not optional

Sometimes garnish or a salted rim is optional, sometimes it adds to your cocktail in ways you can’t imagine. In this cocktail, before you start making the drink, it’s important to build your garnish. The lime and salt add subtle flavour when sipping the finished drink.

Using a zester, zest off the skin from a small lime. Add a teaspoon of crushed sea salt and mix it together with a spoon.

Using a brush, brush simple syrup/maple syrup or agave syrup around ½’ of the outer rim of each of two glasses. Roll each glass in the lime and sea salt garnish and set aside.

Building the mocktail

  1. In each of the two glasses add the Crossip Blazing Pineapple.

  2. Add 3 or 4 dashes of orange bitters (your choice of Angostura or All The Bitters n/a bitters).

  3. Add a big scoop of ice to each glass and stir the liquid briefly to combine and chill.

  4. Top off with the lime lager and serve.

Cheers and let us know how you like this Some Good Clean Fun mocktail.
