Dry January: A Soft Landing Spritz

Let’s make a soft landing into Dry January, shall we? This elegant and super easy non-alcoholic cocktail is perfect for any leftover non-alcoholic sparkling wine from your New Years celebrations.

The secret to this delicious drink is alcohol-free dry vermouth. Dry vermouth is like a well-kept secret amongst the zero proof drinks community. Vermouth is made from a grape spirit, so while it’s not wine it has some of the taste you crave from wine.

A favourite brand of alcohol-free dry vermouth easy to get via Amazon is called Roots Divino. Roots Divino is an alcohol-free dry vermouth from Greece, with a delicately off-dry flavour and a weighty mouthfeel. It’s great with tonic water, but to level it up, try pairing it with a non-alcoholic sparkling wine for a spin on the spritz. In this recipe, the award-winning sparkling Riesling from Germany complements the vermouth flavours for a simply elegant non-alcoholic cocktail.

Ingredients

1 oz Roots Divino Dry Vermouth
5 oz Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Non-alcoholic Sparkling Riesling

Add vermouth to the bottom of a wine glass, add ice, then gently pour in the sparkling wine. Stir gently with a bar spoon to combine and chill.
