Top 10 Low-Sugar Non-Alcoholic Wines (2026 Taste-tested & Reviewed)
/One of the biggest complaints I hear about non-alcoholic wine? “It’s just full of sugar.” And honestly, people aren’t wrong. There’s a lot of sugar in many non-alcoholic wines both at the supermarket and specialty stores, and in both the cheap and expensive price points.
When you remove the alcohol from wine, you also strip out a lot of flavor, body, and texture which means many non-alcoholic winemakers add sugar back into the wine to compensate. Sugar boosts the mouthfeel and gives a fuller impression. But the trade-off is some bottles end up sweeter than soda, and many people don’t even realize it.
If you’re like me, and trying to feel better, sleep better and cut back on both alcohol and sugar, it’s time to find a better solution.
The good news? Low sugar non-alcoholic wine actually exists — and some of it tastes really, really good. I’ve tasted dozens of bottles (so you don’t have to), and the ones below are my latest go-to recommendations for when you want a wine experience without the hangover or the sugar spike.
You’ll find everything from dry sparkling wines to low-carb reds all with under 4g of sugar per glass and some with none at all. They are all delicious, well-crafted non-alcoholic wines made by producers who care about what goes into the bottle and into our bodies.
So if you’ve been hunting for non alcoholic wine without sugar, or a low carb wine alternative that still scratches the wine itch… this list is for you!

LOW SUGAR NON-ALCOHOLIC RED WINES
1. Saint Viviana Cabernet Sauvignon, 1g/5oz (U.S.)
Best for: pasta, saucy tomato dishes
Tasting notes: This is perhaps one of the absolute best low sugar non-alcoholic red wines out there for the price. It’s dry and lightly tannic, and yet full of flavour despite being only 1g of sugar per glass. I gave this 97 points. It’s worth paying for because it’s a steal at an accessible price point.

2. Zeronimo Leonis Blend, 2g/100ml (Austria)
Best for: very special occasions
Tasting notes: This super dry wine is layered in complexity and soft tannins and is indistinguishable from a real wine. Made with a blend of Baufrankish, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt, this Austrian gem is one of the only estate wines in the entire non-alcoholic world. The fact that it's a low sugar alcohol free wine is almost irrelevant when you taste the quality, and experience the pure luxury of a fantastic aged wine.
3. Tomorrow Cellars Red, 2g/5oz (U.S.)
Best for: Steak, Osso Buco, grilled meats
Tasting notes: This is a structured and juicy Napa Valley red, with tannins and complexity reminiscent of a vintage wine. The low sugar level does not impact the mouthfeel or flavour whatsoever and this needs to be on repeat for you, if you want the taste of red wine but are watching your alcohol and sugar intake. It’s a GREAT non-alcoholic red!

LOW SUGAR NON-ALCOHOLIC SPARKLING WINES
4. Bolle Blanc de Blanc, 3.3g/4oz (U.K.)
Best for: special occasions
Tasting notes: I absolutely fell in love with this bubbly the first time I took a sip. The producers use two innovative techniques to create a chateau-worthy bubbly that tastes like the real thing, and doesn’t have any added juice or artificial carbonation which is super rare in this category. And at the very reasonable price point, it makes this a low sugar holy grail!
5. Society de la Rassi Neue Brut, 1g/4oz (Spain)
Best for: bottle service and dancing on tables
Tasting notes:
Crafted in Spain from 100% chardonnay, Society de la Rassi brut is super low in sugar, but still tasty. The bubbles are absolutely delicious in this non-alcoholic sparkler, with a really clean, refreshing texture that drinks like a premium Champagne. LOW SUGAR NON-ALCOHOLIC WHITE WINES
7. Oceano 0 Chardonnay, 1g/4oz (U.S.)
Best for: girls night, roast chicken, lemony grilled fish
Tasting notes: Clocking in at 1g of sugar, I think this is one of the best examples of an n/a white staying at nearly no sugar, while maintaining some structure and body. It has nice mellow buttery notes with a hint of salinity that sticks around through the length. I loved this one, and was so pleased to find out there was only 1g of sugar because it sure doesn’t taste like it!
8. Giesen Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand)
Best for: your regular house wine
Tasting notes: Giesen Sauvignon Blanc is perhaps the best selling non-alcoholic wine in the U.S. It’s taken the world by storm, as it retains everything you want in a Sauvignon Blanc wine even though its been dealcoholized. You’ll love the crisp, grassy, green aroma and palette and the fact that it’s widely available for under $20, and only a few grams of sugar per glass makes this a binge worthy bottle!

FAQs About Non-Alcoholic Wine
1. Is non-alcoholic wine actually wine?
Yes — they’re typically made by fermenting grapes like regular wine and then removing the alcohol via methods like vacuum distillation or reverse osmosis. They’re still labeled “wine” in many countries if under 0.5% ABV.
2. Does non-alcoholic wine contain sugar or calories?
Non-alcoholic wines often have fewer calories than their alcoholic counterparts, but sugar levels vary. Always check the nutrition label, as some are dry and others retain styles of fruitiness.
3. Are there trace amounts of alcohol in non-alcoholic wine?
Yes — “alcohol-free” or “zero-alcohol” labels usually indicate 0.0%, but many non-alcoholic wines register between 0.01% and 0.05% ABV, which is virtually undetectable.
4. Is non-alcoholic wine just as good for you?
Despite media buzz, red wine's touted benefits (like resveratrol) are minimal—you’d need to drink several bottles to match eating grapes. Non-alcoholic wine has under 0.5% ABV, making it a healthier choice—but watch added sugars.
5. Is non-alcoholic wine suitable for people in recovery?
For many, yes — it offers ritual and flavor without the alcohol. But those avoiding any trace amounts should opt for bottles labeled 0.0% ABV.
6. What is the best way to store non-alcoholic wine?
Keep it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. After opening, refrigerate and consume within 24 hours, as it oxidizes faster than traditional wine.
