Having a holiday in the middle of frigid February (St Valentine’s Day in case you’ve forgotten what day and year it is in these dark days) is something to look forward to. We’re also massive lovers of chocolate and slightly obsessed with coffee. So, what could be a better combo than coffee and chocolate we ask?  Nothing. Thus, we had to find a drink that is saucy enough for Valentine’s Day and can be made with one hand while gorging on chocolate hearts with the other.

Lyre’s Spirits Co makes a huge line of products, but with the influx of so many new brands of non-alcoholic on the market, there are only two or three things in the Lyre’s line-up that really stand out as ‘necessary’ for your bar cart. Their classy coffee-style non alcoholic liqueur is one of them as a fantastic substitute for Tia Maria - one of the only coffee-inspired non-alcoholic spirits on the market makes it extremely unique.

You can order it on Amazon here and it will be at your door tomorrow!

To make it easy, but decadent, we’ve added rich chocolate milk (but don’t tell your kids it’s in the fridge, or they will drink it all before you can make this drink!).

INGREDIENTS

Torani chocolate sauce (or any brand will do)
2 oz Lyre’s Spirits Co Coffee Originale Style
0.5 oz non-alcoholic vodka (Arkay or Strykk) *optional
1.5 oz chilled espresso or cold brew if you prefer
1 oz chilled Organic Meadow chocolate milk

PREPARATION

Squeeze the chocolate sauce onto the inside of a martini glass, while swirling it between your thumb and forefinger to create a circular pattern on the inside of the glass.

Add the rest of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake briefly to combine and chill. Strain into the martini glass. Garnish with chocolate shavings.

Cheers Valentine!
