White Lotus Vibes: 6 Premixed Non Alcoholic Italian Spritz Options You Can Immediately Pop Open

non alcoholic italian spritz non alcholic aperol spritz reviews and recommendations

The south of Italy is known for its spritz style drinks, specifically the Aperol spritz. You can see this in every episode of the most recent White Lotus season, as the main characters sip on orange flavored drinks in front of a typical Mediterranean beachfront vista.

Making a non-alcoholic aperitif like Aperol or Campari has become a favourite challenge of entrepreneurs interested in making non-alcoholic options. Lyre’s Spirit Co. was one of the first to release an Aperol blend, Lyre’s Italian Style Spritz, but now there are dozens of options available to spritz-lovers ranging from red Campari-dupes to options similar to your childhood Brio Chinotto soda. They incorporate the same bitter orange flavors and bright hues expected from an Italian aperitif.

There are a lot of options to make a non-alcoholic spritz at home, but premixed canned options are a great place to start if you’re trying out an alcohol-free alternative. This roundup shares our review and tasting notes of some options for non-alcoholic premixed Italian spritz available in Canada.

ISH Spirits SpritzISH

This is our top pick for non-alcoholic spritz. It’s not too sweet, not too bitter, which is just the way we like it. It’s a dead ringer for a true Aperol Spritz, with the telltale orange candy notes and a hint of bitter spice. You can taste the premium non-alcoholic sparkling wine as the ‘grape’ flavour doesn’t detract from the Aperol and is light and bubbly. And of course, it’s in cool packaging that only the Danes could do!

St. Regis De-Alcoholized Spritz

This Canadian large-format premixed spritz is a really great tasting option to bring with you to a Sunday brunch, or lazy beach day. It’s got really juicy blood orange notes, plus a nice balance with non-alcoholic sparkling wine. The effervescence is slightly fizzy, but despite that, it’s a very authentic Italian spritz, just without the alcohol.

Bibi Bitter Aperitivo Soda

This is more of a non-alcoholic Campari spritz with club soda instead of sparkling wine. It’s red in color just like Italian soda, and it has a similar taste to Brio Chinotto or Gioia soda. A nice rhubarb bitterness, with quinine which adds a bite to it as well. It’s about 8/10 on a bitterness scale - as close to a boozy bitter soda as possible.

Crodino Non-Alcoholic Italian Aperitivo

Crodino is the classic Italian non-alcoholic aperitivo that’s been around for decades. They say it ‘tastes like an Italian sunset’ and we believe it. This isn’t a traditional spritz, but it’s light and bubbly enough that you can drink it on its own over ice. It’s also 8/10 on the bitterness scale, but the flavours are softer and nicely balanced.

Atypique Non Alcoholic Spritz

This is a brand from Montreal that makes several non-alcoholic ready-to-drink flavours. Their Italian Non-alcoholic Spritz flavour is our least favorite, but we’re including it here because it’s Canadian and it’s still a fairly good option. The Atypique non-alcoholic Spritz really plays up the orange candy notes that are in typical Aperol - it’s almost like an orange slushie or orange freezie. It would be less sugary on the palette if diluted with some club soda.

Lyre’s Non Alcoholic Premixed Amalfi Spritz

Lyre’s was one of the first to release an Aperol-dupe called Italian Spritz Style non-alcoholic spirit. It wasn’t actually a spritz, but since then, they’ve developed their own sparkling wine and rolled out a new premixed traditional bubbly spritz product. The Lyre’s Spritz has a beautiful orange nose, and you can taste the definition of both the aperitif and the sparkling components. The bitterness is a 5/10 which is perfect - not too bitter, and not too sweet.
