8 Best Non-Alcoholic Wines for Thanksgiving Dinner
/From sparkling wines to food-friendly reds, these are my favorite dealcoholized wines to serve with turkey and all the fixings.
Hosting Thanksgiving is enough work without having to worry about what everyone is going to drink. And if you or some of your guests aren’t drinking alcohol, you might be wondering whether a non-alcoholic wine can actually stand up to turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and everything else on the table.
The answer is yes! But as anyone who has poured a disappointing bottle of dealcoholized wine knows, some options are much better suited to a holiday meal than others.
I’ve tasted hundreds of non-alcoholic wines since I stopped drinking in 2021, and the eight bottles below are the ones I’d be happy to bring to a Thanksgiving dinner. They have the acidity, flavor and structure to complement food, and most importantly, they’re close enough to the real thing to make your guests who try it feel like they’re really having something special.
My top pick for Thanksgiving is Zeronimo Sparkling Select, an elegant Austrian bubbly that pairs beautifully with turkey and stuffing. If you’re looking for a red, I love Oceano Zero Pinot Noir for its soft fruit and balanced tannins, while Missing Thorn Red Blend brings cranberry, spice and a little smoke to the table.
How I chose these non-alcoholic wines
For this list, I focused on wines I’ve personally tasted that I think work particularly well with Thanksgiving food. That means bright sparkling wines to balance rich gravy and sides, an off-dry riesling for all those savory fall flavors and reds with enough character to hold their own with the turkey.
I’ve included a range of styles and prices, plus one wine alternative that’s made without alcohol from the start.
Part 1 - NON-ALCOHOLIC SPARKLING WINES
If you’ve never thought to pair sparkling wine with turkey and stuffing, let me introduce you to one of my favorite combinations. It works on the table, or as a welcome drink for your guests - whether they’re drinking or not!
PATRICK BAYER, HEAD WINEMAKER, ZERONIMO & HERIBERT BAYER
1. Zeronimo Sparkling Select
In my books, Zeronimo Sparkling Select is the best non-alcoholic sparkling wine to bring to your Thanksgiving table. Made in Austria by an experienced winemaker, this elegant bubbly has the complexity and finesse I look for in a special-occasion wine.
Tasting notes: Pop the cork and those crisp aromatics will have your mouth watering before you’ve even poured a glass. The aromatics in this wonderfully bone-dry blend are a beautiful marriage between three Austrian varietals, accentuated with subtle notes of elderflower, honey and a hint of fruit. It’s got a beautiful balance of acidity and a soft sweetness. The bone-dry, crisp acidity and exceptional mousse in Sparkling Select will cut through the heavy fats of a Thanksgiving meal leaving every bite taste fresh.

2. Tomorrow Cellars Sparkling Blanc du Rhone
As a Thanksgiving pairing, the lively acidity and touch of sweetness make this Blanc du Rhone a lovely match to balance out heavier dishes like mashed potatoes and savory side dishes.
Tasting notes: Tomorrow Cellars Sparkling Blanc du Rhone is another bottle I love for a holiday meal. Made in California with marsanne grapes sourced from sustainably farmed Northern California vineyards, it’s bright, sophisticated and full of personality. Expect lemon curd and yuzu, gorgeous bubbles and a bone-dry profile with just the right hint of sweetness. It has the complexity I want from a sparkling wine and really does drink like the full-alcohol version. Bright and sassy!

3. Mionetto Dealcoholized Sparkling
If you’re hosting a crowd, you don’t necessarily want to spend a fortune on every bottle. Mionetto Dealcoholized Sparkling is the best budget-friendly non-alcoholic sparkling wine. It’s a cheerful, Prosecco-style bubbly that costs around $15 but tastes more expensive.
Tasting notes: The parent wine of this fun n/a bubbly, is made in Italy before being dealcoholized in Germany. It’s not as complex as some of the other sparkling wines on this list, but it’s an easy, enjoyable option to have on hand. Zippy and bright, it has a medium acidity and an almost creamy mousse. It’s the kind of bubbly that drinks more expensive than it is! Its acidity makes it a good companion for heavier dishes, while the creamy bubbles would be lovely with dessert too.
Available at: Amazon ($25); in-store retailers include ABC, Total Wine and some grocery stores; in Canada through Upside Drinks and provincial liquor stores.
Part 2 - Non-Alcoholic White Wines for Turkey
Rieslings and chenin blancs are the usual recomendations for holiday meals, as their high acidity, minerality and off-dry profile work with both dark and light meat plus savoury side dishes or cheese-based dishes like mac and cheese.
4. Kolonne Null Riesling
Riesling is a classic choice for turkey, and luckily there are some excellent non-alcoholic versions to choose from. I recently discovered Kolonne Null Riesling and really enjoy it with food (it even made it to my best non-alcoholic white wines list for 2026). It’s produced in Germany from 100% riesling grapes, and I think it’s the best non-alcoholic white wine specifically for turkey.
Tasting notes: It’s off-dry, nicely balanced and full of flavor, with Bosc pear and other orchard fruit on the palate. There’s also a lovely minerality that gives it that recognizable riesling character. For a thanksgiving pairing, the orchard fruit notes feel right at home with a fall meal and the acidity helps balance turkey and savory sides.

Can’t find Kolonne Null? Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Riesling is another good non-alcoholic riesling to look for and is widely available where non-alcoholic wine is sold.
Part 3 - Non Alcoholic Red Wines For Turkey
Turkey is a relatively lean meat, so you don’t necessarily need a big, powerful red wine to go with it - and tannins can actually conflict with super dry white meat like turkey. Here are some great non-alcoholic red wines to pair with it!
5. Oceano Zero 2024 Pinot Noir
A pinot noir is a natural choice for turkey because of its lower tannins and bright acidity. Oceano Zero’s 2024 Pinot Noir is one of the best non-alcoholic options I’ve tasted (it’s #2 on my top non-alcoholic red wines list).
Tasting notes: This is a sophisticated, food-friendly red that delivers pinot noir character without feeling too heavy. Made in California, it’s an elegant wine with the complexity and dry tannins I want from a pinot noir, balanced by soft fruit and lively acidity. There are notes of leather, smoke, a hint of oak and the tannins are soft and light. As a Thanksgiving pairing, this would be delightful with herbed roasted veggies, crispy potatoes (rather than mashed) and definitely your stuffing.

6. Zeronimo Leonis Blend
Zeronimo Leonis Blend is the Rolls-Royce of non-alcoholic wines and is the best special-occasion non-alcoholic red wine (it’s #1 on my top non-alcoholic red wines list). And yes, it’s priced accordingly. But if you’re looking for a special bottle to share at Thanksgiving, I think it’s worth the splurge.
Tasting notes: This Austrian red is made from a blend of Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon by an experienced winemaker using advanced dealcoholization technology. It’s a beautifully structured wine that shows just how far the category has come. Dark chocolate, tart cherry and hints of oak, with gentle tannins and a complex, medium-bodied profile. It’s real wine - just without the alcohol! A wonderful option for a holiday meal, especially for guests who enjoy a structured red and want something that feels every bit as special as the rest of the table.
Available at: Ocean Beach Brands (U.S.); ZeronimoWine.com everywhere else.
7. Missing Thorn Red Bordeaux Blend
This is the best non-alcoholic red wine for holiday flavors and it’s one of my favourite things about Missing Thorn Red Blend. Made in California by winemaker Aaron Pott, it’s unique, juicy and just so delicious. It’s cranberry and spice notes make it a particularly fun choice for Thanksgiving!
Tasting notes: Puckery cranberry, a hint of smoke, tobacco and spice, with the kind of grippy tannins that can be hard to find in a non-alcoholic red. There’s a lot going on here in the best possible way. It’s an ideal thanksgiving food pairing - the cranberry and spice feel especially fitting alongside a holiday spread. At around $30, I also think it’s well priced for a wine of this quality.
Available in: Directly through Missing Thorn’s website.
Part 4 - Alcohol-free Wine Option for Thanksgiving
If you’re interested in something completely alcohol-free (0.0% ABV) and not necessarily a dupe of traditional wine, ‘built’ options are for you. Proxies can be confusing if you’re expecting an exact copy of a traditional wine, but here’s one option that is hands-down the best I’ve tried over the past five years!
8. Proxies Big Red
Proxies Big Red isn’t a dealcoholized wine: it’s a wine-style alternative built from juices, vinegars and flavorings and it’s 0.0% alcohol. It’s the best 0.0% wine alternative for Thanksgiving because it has tannins, body, structure and tastes impeccable!
Tasting notes: I literally said “wow” when I first tried this wine alternative. Big Red has cherry and blackberry notes, a hint of flavored tobacco and a pleasing tannic quality. It’s medium-bodied and avoids the thick, overly sweet texture that some wine alternatives have. It drinks like an expensive wine, just with some unique differences in flavor. It’s a great choice for anyone who wants a savory, layered drink to enjoy alongside their Thanksgiving.
Available at: The Zero Proof, $22 (15% off your cart with this link - discount applied at checkout); Canada: Upside Drinks, $26 (15% off your cart with code SOMEGOODCLEANFUN)
and in Canada through Upside Drinks.
What type of non-alcoholic wine goes best with Thanksgiving dinner?
If you’re not sure where to start, I’d choose a sparkling wine. A dry, lively bubbly works with everything from appetizers to turkey and can help balance the richness of stuffing and mashed potatoes.
For white wine drinkers, an off-dry riesling is a lovely match for turkey and seasonal sides. And if you prefer red, a pinot noir is a great place to start: it has enough flavor to be interesting without overwhelming the meal.
Of course, the best bottle is ultimately the one you and your guests enjoy drinking. Thanksgiving dinner should be fun, and everyone at the table deserves something delicious in their glass.
