Sober Curious? Living Alcohol Free? You'll drink up these quit-lit reads
/As Dry January rounded the corner this year, a number of new quit-lit books hit the shelves written by both sober and sober-curious authors. Each of these new additions is unique in their own way, providing something for everyone, ranging from structured programs to mocktail recipes to personal insight and experience.
This new guide to sobriety, authored by therapist Amanda E. White, hit the shelves in early January 2022. After determining that alcohol was negatively impacting her career and the quality of her life, and after trying and failing to moderate, Amanda decided to embark down the path of sobriety. As a therapist and sober gal, she understands the stigma that can accompany abstinence, and how the choice not to drink can be questioned and criticized. This guide was designed to help others navigate the social and personal journey through early sobriety, to understand the reasons behind your drinking, and to begin creating a fulfilling life without alcohol. Jamie Varon, author of Radically Content, described the book as “…so much more than a book about alcohol. Endlessly compassionate, and beautifully researched, this book is a permission slip to evaluate your relationship to alcohol in a safe environment, as well as look at all the other factors that surround that decision… This book is the best kind of therapy.”
